Edcamp Equity & Inclusivity
On June 8, 2019, WW-P will be hosting an EdCamp for Equity & Inclusivity at High School South. As a district, we believe all of our stakeholders need safe places to have conversations that will push the work forward: to ask questions, to share, to learn, and to find allies. Doing this work will allow us to truly create a culture that includes, honors, and empowers every voice.
We will be sharing the location with the HITOPS New Jersey Trans Youth Forum 2019. If you would like more information regarding the Forum, please visit: https://www.njtyf.org/
WHAT IS AN EDCAMP?
The mission of Edcamp Foundation is to build and support communities of empowered educators.
Free and open to all. This ensures that all educators can attend.
Participant-driven. Sessions are determined by the participants at the event; there are no presentations. The goal is to keep sessions spontaneous, interactive and responsive to everyone’s needs.
Experience, not Experts. The educators in the room are professionals worthy of sharing their expertise in a collaborative setting.
Reliant on the Rule of Two Feet. Participants are encouraged to actively self-select the best content and sessions. Edcampers should leave sessions that do not meet their needs. This provides an effective way of “weeding out” sessions that are not based on appropriate research or not delivered in an engaging format.
